Short answer. On a monthly plan the draft rules ask for a reminder before the renewal payment at each six-month mark from sign-up: for 1 June that means before 1 December and before the next 1 June.
Monthly is the most common plan and the one the six-monthly reminder was written for.
- Reminders land before the payment at 6, 12, 18 and 24 months.
- You choose the window, for example 5 to 10 days, and state it at checkout.
Worked example: Monthly plan
A customer who signs up on 1 June 2027 and pays £12 every month.
| Date | Notice | What it covers |
|---|---|---|
| 1 June 2027 | Full contract information | At sign-up |
| 1 June 2027 | Cooling-off notice | Cooling-off ends 15 June 2027 |
| 24 November 2027 | Six-monthly reminder | Payment of £12.00 on 1 December 2027 |
| 25 May 2028 | Six-monthly reminder | Payment of £12.00 on 1 June 2028 |
| 24 November 2028 | Six-monthly reminder | Payment of £12.00 on 1 December 2028 |
| 25 May 2029 | Six-monthly reminder | Payment of £12.00 on 1 June 2029 |
End-of-contract confirmation: Within 24 hours of an online cancellation.
Suggested checkout wording: We'll email you before renewal at least every 6 months, 5 to 10 days before the payment. You can cancel online at any time.
Timings use our suggested defaults. The law doesn't fix the number of days; you choose a window and state it at checkout.
